I've helped fund 8 hours of a research assistant’s time to work on life saving cancer research.

I'm taking on Cancer Council’s The Longest Day to raise vital funds for cancer research so that fewer families have to experience what mine has over the past few years.
Both my sister and a one of my oldest friend have faced the big C. Sadly, only one of them was able to defeat it.
My sister was first diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in her 20s. After years of treatment, remission, and relapse, she was later diagnosed with a secondary cancer which was a result of her earlier treatments. This time, the battle was too great, and on 31 August 2025, she passed away.
She was my inspiration, my best friend, and one of the most incredible people I’ve ever known, someone who faced every hardship with strength and selflessness, always putting others first.
I’m taking on this challenge for those who can’t, to honour my sister and to help fund research that will prevent others from enduring what she did, and to one day stop secondary cancers from taking more lives.
