This December*, we are calling on golfers to help reduce the impact of cancer in Australia. Your club can help make a difference to those affected by cancer.
The Longest Day is the ultimate golf challenge designed to test the skill, strength, and stamina of your members. The challenge is to complete four consecutive rounds (72 holes) of golf in one day and raise vital funds to help Cancer Council conduct research, deliver prevention campaigns and support people as they navigate the cancer journey.
*Western Australia clubs and participants can get involved in April 2023, and Northern Territory clubs and participants can get involved any time across May and June 2023.

Did you know that men over 40 are 1.5 times more likely than women to be diagnosed with melanoma and twice as likely to die from it?
By participating in The Longest Day, you and your members will be playing your part in helping create a cancer free future.
Here are the three easy ways your club can get involved.
Become a Legendary Host Club
It’s easy to do. Here’s what’s involved:
- Open your club to non-members for the challenge and waive green fees.
- Cancer Council will list you on their website and promote your club through their social channels.
- You’ll get increased traffic through your club and possibly new members – it’s a win-win!
Be a Longest Day Promoter
If you’re all set for members at your club, or not able to waive fees this year, sign up to be a Promoting Club.
There are two options for registering as a Promoter Club this year:
- Open: Encourage members and be open for non-members to take on the challenge for a fee.
- Members-only: Private Clubs encouraging members only to take on the challenge.
Put up our promotional posters and flyers in your Pro shop and around the Club, share through newsletter call out and on social pages.
Challenge your staff to put in a team
Be an ACE and put in a Club Team – challenge your golf Pro to take on a members team and raise funds for cancer research.
- Register a team
- Take on the ultimate golf challenge (72 holes in one day)
- Raise vital funds to help people impacted by cancer
