Entry Restrictions

Entry is open to residents of Australia at the commencement of the Promotion Period.

Entrants less than 18 years of age must have the consent of their parent or guardian in order to enter. By entering the Competition, entrants confirm that they have consent, and the Promoter reserves the right to verify this.

Entry Procedure

To enter, entrants must, during the Promotion Period:

  1. Register as a Team Captain or Team Member for The Longest Day 2022.
  2. Entrants who successfully register during the Promotion Period and meet the entry requirements set out above are deemed Qualifying Participants.

Number of Entries

A Qualifying Participant is eligible for 1 entry for Competition registration by the close of the Promotion Period.

Entry is automatic.

Notification of Publication of Winners

Winners will be notified via email or phone within 2 Queensland business days of being selected. Prize winners’ names will be published on the Promoter’s website at Cancer Council - The Longest Day on Monday the 21st of November 2022.

Prize Claim Date

Prizes will be emailed out to the winners within 7 days after the winners have been notified.

If the winner does not provide an email address within 2 days of the draw, the prize will be forfeited by the winner.

If the winner does not claim the prize within 2 days of the draw, the prize will be forfeited by the winner.

If the prize is not claimed, a second draw will be held at 12.00pm AEST on Friday 18th November 2022 at the draw Location to re-draw the prize. The winner of the redraw will be notified via email or phone and must provide an email address for the prize to be sent to.

Cancer Council must deliver the prize(s) to the winner(s) within one month after the winner(s) are decided. This does not apply if the winner agrees to a later delivery time or Cancer Council make reasonable efforts to contact the person and are unable to locate the prize winner.

Entrants

  1. The eligibility requirements for this Competition are set out in the Entry Restrictions.
  2. Directors, managers, employees, officers, agents and contractors of the Promoter, and their immediate families (i.e. spouse, partner, parent, grandparent, natural or adopted child, and sibling (whether natural or adopted by a parent)) are ineligible to enter.

How to enter

  1. To enter, you must follow the Entry Procedure.
  2. We will not accept entries that are incomplete, illegible, or generated by computers or other automated means, for example, bots.
  3. We reserve the right to disqualify your entry in the event of non-compliance with these Conditions of Entry, failure to meet any requirements set out in the Entry Procedure, or if (in our reasonable opinion), you tamper or interfere with an entry mechanism in any way.
  4. If the Competition cannot run for reasons beyond our control (for example, infection by computer virus, mobile network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, or technical failures), we reserve the right to cancel, suspend, modify, or terminate the Competition. If that happens, we’ll select a winner from eligible entries received at the time.
  5. All decisions made by us regarding any aspect of the Competition are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Prizes

  1. The prize(s) are set out in the Prize Details.
  2. Prize values are accurate as at the start of the Promotion Period for the Competition. Any variation after that date is beyond our control. All costs, fees, charges, or expenses associated with the prize(s), which are not specified in the Schedule, are the responsibility of the winner(s).
  3. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash. If for any reason a prize is not available, we will substitute it for another prize of equal or higher value (at our discretion).

Game of chance

  1. This Competition is a game of chance. Each eligible entry will be drawn by us as set out in the Draw Details. The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. We will notify winners, and publish their names, in accordance with the Notification and Publication of Winners information set out in the Schedule.

How to claim prizes

  1. Prizes will be emailed using the address information provided on the entry form unless the winner provides an alternative address at the time they are notified as being a winner.
  2. If (having made reasonable efforts) we cannot contact a prize winner, or if any prize is not accepted or claimed by the Prize Claim Date, that prize winner’s entry will be deemed invalid, and we reserve the right to undertake a re-draw to distribute unclaimed prizes.
  3. If you are a winner, you are responsible for your use of the prize, including complying with all relevant laws and any applicable terms and conditions of use.

Promoter’s use of personal information

  1. Your Personal Information is being collected by Cancer Council Queensland so that you may enter and participate in the Competition. All entrants agree to Cancer Council from time to time using their name, image and/or performance in this Competition for any purpose (including publicity, merchandising, editorial, education and fundraising) in any country and by any form of media without qualification (e.g. newspapers, magazines, other print publications, radio and television broadcasts, websites, podcasts, and vodcasts) in perpetuity.

  1. We accept no responsibility for any problems or technical malfunction of any communication network or for any late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise. We have no control over telephone communications, networks or lines and accept no responsibility for any problems associated with them, whether due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. We are not liable for any consequences of user error including any costs incurred.
  2. You will be responsible for any tax liability associated with a prize.
  3. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including direct or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prizes or this Competition. We accept no responsibility for any tax liabilities that may arise from winning a prize.

Notification of Publication of Winners

Winners will be notified via email or phone within 2 Queensland business days of being selected. Prize winners’ names will be published on the Promoter’s website at Cancer Council - The Longest Day on Monday the 13th February 2023.

Prize Claim Date

Prizes will be emailed out to the winners within 7 days after the winners have been notified.

If the winner does not provide an email address within 2 days of the draw, the prize will be forfeited by the winner.

If the winner does not claim the prize within 2 days of the draw, the prize will be forfeited by the winner.

If the prize is not claimed, a second draw will be held at 12.00pm AEST on Friday 10th February 2023 at the draw Location to re-draw the prize. The winner of the redraw will be notified via email or phone and must provide an email address for the prize to be sent to.

Cancer Council must deliver the prize(s) to the winner(s) within one month after the winner(s) are decided. This does not apply if the winner agrees to a later delivery time or Cancer Council make reasonable efforts to contact the person and are unable to locate the prize winner.

Entrants

  1. The eligibility requirements for this Competition are set out in the Entry Restrictions.
  2. Directors, managers, employees, officers, agents and contractors of the Promoter, and their immediate families (i.e. spouse, partner, parent, grandparent, natural or adopted child, and sibling (whether natural or adopted by a parent)) are ineligible to enter.

How to enter

  1. To enter, you must follow the Entry Procedure.
  2. We will not accept entries that are incomplete, illegible, or generated by computers or other automated means, for example, bots.
  3. We reserve the right to disqualify your entry in the event of non-compliance with these Conditions of Entry, failure to meet any requirements set out in the Entry Procedure, or if (in our reasonable opinion), you tamper or interfere with an entry mechanism in any way.
  4. If the Competition cannot run for reasons beyond our control (for example, infection by computer virus, mobile network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, or technical failures), we reserve the right to cancel, suspend, modify, or terminate the Competition. If that happens, we’ll select a winner from eligible entries received at the time.
  5. All decisions made by us regarding any aspect of the Competition are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Prizes

  1. The prize(s) are set out in the Prize Details.
  2. Prize values are accurate as at the start of the Promotion Period for the Competition. Any variation after that date is beyond our control. All costs, fees, charges, or expenses associated with the prize(s), which are not specified in the Schedule, are the responsibility of the winner(s).
  3. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash. If for any reason a prize is not available, we will substitute it for another prize of equal or higher value (at our discretion).

How to claim prizes

  1. Prizes will be emailed using the address information provided on the entry form unless the winner provides an alternative address at the time they are notified as being a winner.
  2. If (having made reasonable efforts) we cannot contact a prize winner, or if any prize is not accepted or claimed by the Prize Claim Date, that prize winner’s entry will be deemed invalid, and we reserve the right to undertake a re-draw to distribute unclaimed prizes.
  3. If you are a winner, you are responsible for your use of the prize, including complying with all relevant laws and any applicable terms and conditions of use.

  1. Your Personal Information is being collected by Cancer Council Queensland so that you may enter and participate in the Competition. Golf Australia Magazine Subscription (NSW and VIC only) 

Entry 

  1. Instructions on how to enter The Longest Day 2022 (the Event) Golf Australia Magazine subscription competition (the Competition) and prizes form part of these conditions of entry.
  2. Entry into the Competition constitutes acceptance of these conditions.
  3. The promoter of this Competition is The Cancer Council NSW (ABN 51 116 463 846), 153 Dowling St, Woolloomooloo NSW 2011, (02) 9334 1900 (the Promoter).
  4. The Competition commences at 12.00am AEDT Saturday 19 November 2022 and finishes at 11.59pm AEDT on Tuesday 31 January 2023 (the Promotion Period).
  5. Entry in this Competition is only open Event participants, aged 18 years or over, or if under 18 years have obtained permission from a parent or legal guardian, and who:
    1. aare residents of New South Wales or Victoria;
    2. have registered to participate in the Event during the Promotion Period;
    3. make a self-donation to their online fundraising page during the Promotion Period; and
    4. are not an employee of the Promoter or a relative of any employee of the Promoter
      (Qualifying Participant).
  6.  Qualifying Participants are automatically entered into the Competition, with a limit of one entry per person.

Prize

  1. The prize is 1 of 10, 6-month subscriptions to Golf Australia Magazine (valued at AUD $49 per subscription) (the Prize).
  2. The Prize is not redeemable for cash and eligibility to receive the Prize does not entitle you to a refund of any price previously paid for a subscription to Golf Australia Magazine.  
  3. If the Prize or an element of the Prize becomes unavailable, for any reason beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, then a comparable prize or prize element of equal or greater value will be awarded in lieu.
  4. This is a game of chance. The Prize winner will be randomly drawn by the Promoter from the pool of Qualifying Participants who meet the eligibility criteria set out above.
  5. The Prize will be drawn at 12.00pm  Wednesday 1 February 2023 at the Promoter’s head office. The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  6. The winner will be notified via email or phone from  9.00am Thursday 2 February AEDT and to claim the Prize, must provide an address for the Prize to be posted to.
  7. If the winner does not claim the Prize within 14 days of the draw, the Prize will be forfeited by the winner.
  8. If the Prize is not claimed, a second draw will be held at  12.00pm on Wednesday 15 February 2023 AEDT at the Promoter’s head office to re-draw the prize. The redraw winner will be notified via email or phone and must comply with these terms as if it were the original winner.    
  9. If the Prize is again unclaimed, the draw and notification process will be repeated until the Prize is claimed or three months has elapsed, whichever is the earlier, after which it will be sold and the proceeds paid to The Cancer Council NSW.
  10. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age, and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these conditions or who tampers with the entry process.

If you meet the eligibility criteria above, once you raise $2,500 you will receive an email from Cancer Council notifying you of your eligibility to receive your ‘Longest Day’ golf kit. 

To claim the golf kit, the winner must reply to the email with their postal address within seven (7) days of recieving the notification. If no reply is recieved, the prize will be forfeited by the winner.

This offer is limited to the first 150 eligible participants.

It is your responsibility to notify Cancer Council within 7 days by return email to claim the prize and provide a postal address. If the email and postal addresses have not been confirmed or alternatives nominated within 7 days, the golf kit will be forfeited.
