Love and Support for the Stewart Family

ometimes life throws things at a family that no family should ever have to face.
Last week our good mate Dean Stewart and his family were hit with every parent's worst nightmare, their 17 yr old son Ashton has suddenly been diagnosed with Leukaemia.
The Stewart Family are the kind of people who give so much to everyone around them. They have dedicated countless hours to the Runaway Bay Soccer Club, local junior sport and their community. Always showing up, lending a hand, leading from the front and supporting the people around them. Now, it's our turn to show up for them.
Over the coming weeks, Dean will be stepping away from his own local business for anywhere between 6 - 12 weeks, whislt Kirsten takes extended leave from work to be there for Ashton and their family. Their focus needs to be on Ashton, his ongoing and extensive treatment and supporting each other through what lies ahead, not worrying about the financial pressures that come with such an unexpected and difficult situation.
On Monday 9th November, from 4am, eight of Dean's great mates are getting together to take on The Longest Day, a massive Golfing challenge to raise money for the Stewart family. THE CHALLENGE? 72 holes of golf in a single day. That’s four full rounds, over 28 kilometres on the course, and for some of us, walking every single step of it. Playing 72 holes in one day is going to hurt. Walking more than a half marathon while swinging golf clubs is going to hurt even more. Our backs, legs and sanity might not survive, but we’re going to give it everything we’ve got for the Stewarts!
This fundraiser is about giving the Stewart Family one less thing to worry about. Every contribution will help ease the financial burden and give Dean and Kirsten the time and space to be there for their son, when he needs them most.
Dean is one of my best mates, and watching a family you love go through something like this is heartbreaking. We can’t fight this battle for them, but we can stand beside them and make sure they don’t have to carry every burden alone.
If you can donate, no matter how big or small, or simply share this fundraiser, it would mean the world. Let’s give back to a family who has given so much to others and remind them that they have an entire community behind them.
We love you, Stewart’s. We’re in your corner, and we’ll be right beside you all the way. ❤️
