I've helped fund 6 hours of a research assistant’s time to work on life saving cancer research.
I'm taking on Cancer Council's The Longest Day...
2 years ago I was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma on the base of my tongue. Fortunately for me, we caught it early and I was extremely lucky to get away with having it surgically removed without the need for chemo or radiation. I had a portion of my tongue removed and 29 lymph nodes taken from my neck. As a result, the anatomy in my mouth has changed significantly and I have a wicked scar on my neck. I still have bouts of swelling in my tongue and neck, my sense of taste has been dulled, I have random choking fits from saliva pooling and going down my windpipe and my jaw aches when I eat. And I got off lightly in comparison to so many others!!
By taking on the ultimate golf challenge to complete four rounds of golf in one day, I'll be testing my skill, strength, and stamina to raise funds for life saving cancer research.
1 in 2 Australians will be affected by cancer by the age of 85, I want to help change this by making every hole count!
Please sponsor me today, because tackling cancer takes all of us.
Together, let's tee off for a cancer free future.
