I've helped fund 4 hours of a research assistant’s time to work on life saving cancer research.

My Story

Absolutely — I’d place it after the paragraph about your own experience, so it naturally explains why the cause is particularly personal to both of you.

Fundraising Story
✓

Two years ago, my life changed when I was diagnosed with chromophobe renal cell carcinoma. In 2024, I underwent surgery to have my kidney and some adrenal glands removed, an experience that changed my perspective on life and gave me an even greater appreciation for the importance of cancer research, treatment and support.

Cancer has also touched my partner’s life in a deeply personal way. In 2024, she lost her mum to cancer. Watching someone you love go through the pain of losing a parent has been incredibly difficult, and it has made this cause even more meaningful to us. Between my own experience with cancer and the loss of her mum, we know just how profoundly cancer can affect not only those diagnosed, but also the families and loved ones around them.

Now, I’m taking on this challenge to give something back and help support others affected by cancer. I know firsthand how difficult a cancer diagnosis can be, and I want to turn my own experience into something positive.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help me reach my fundraising goal and support this important cause. Thank you for supporting me, sharing my story and being part of this journey. It means more to me than I can put into words.

If you’d like, I can also make it more emotional and personal, while keeping it genuine and not overly dramatic.
