I'm taking on Cancer Council's The Longest Day...
Cancer is not something that has affected me personally as a statistic, but I have had family members and friends whose lives have been touched by brain cancer, skin cancer, blood cancers and childhood cancers. I have seen that the impact extends beyond the person diagnosed—it also affects everyone who loves, supports and stands beside them.
That is why I’m taking on The Longest Day golf challenge.
Over the years, I have completed the 72 holes. Completing 72 holes in one day was a genuine test of skill, strength and stamina—but i upped the ante in the past and completed 36 then 72 in consecutive days BUT this year, I want to raise the bar again.
Rather than repeat a challenge I have already completed, I’m upping the ante by taking on 144 holes across three days:
- 36 holes on Day 1
- 36 holes on Day 2
- 72 holes on Day 3
That’s eight full rounds of golf and twice the traditional Longest Day challenge.
If I’m asking my family, friends, colleagues and local businesses to support me, I believe I should earn that support by pushing myself further than I have before. (I will be in a buggy, I am not a sadist or mad)
I’m also inviting other golfers to join me for 18 holes ,36 holes on one of the days or you are welcome to join in on the 72-hole final day or the complete the entire three-day challenge.
Please sponsor me and help make every one of these 144 holes count. Whether you donate, join me on the course or share my fundraising page, every bit of support will help fund life-saving cancer research and work towards a cancer-free future.
Tackling cancer takes all of us. Together, let’s tee off for a cancer-free future.
