Father & Son: 36 Holes, Fore a Great Cause
My son and I are taking on Cancer Council’s The Longest Day together, playing 36 holes in what we hope is the first of many years, because we want to do something that actually matters, side by side.
Let’s be honest, I’m an average golfer at best. My son, on the other hand, is a lot better than I am, and he loves the game. So this is a chance for me to share in something he’s passionate about, and for the two of us to put that time on the course towards a great cause.
Cancer touches just about every family at some point, and we know how much Cancer Council’s work means to so many people, from research and prevention to supporting families through the toughest days of their lives.
For us, it’s about more than the golf. It’s a dad and his boy showing that you’re never too young (or too old) to step up and help others. Every hole we play is for the people doing it much tougher than we are.
If you can chip in, even a few dollars, it’ll go straight to Cancer Council’s work. And if you can’t, a message of support would mean the world to us on the day (and might help my scorecard).
Thanks for backing us!
