I've helped fund 44 hours of a research assistant’s time to work on life saving cancer research.

We're taking on Cancer Council's The Longest Day...

We're teeing off at first light & finishing when there is no sun left! We are trying to complete 90 holes. That's right, 90!!! For those of you who know us, we don't do things in halves, so we're going one step above 72. Please take some time to read what we have to say & why we want you to donate as this means a lot to us.

When & where
10th of November with our partner Mowbray Golf Club

We're asking for you to donate for a great cause, to fight for a cancer free future & end this horrible thing. Our goal is to raise $2,500 but would love to beat that number!

A bit about why we're choosing 'the longest day'
- Alex
Alex had one rock his family in 2017 with his mother being diagnosed with breast cancer & two weeks later she was in for surgery, but she is one tough nut! Winning the long battle alongside the research from the cancer council & efforts from the Holman clinic. After 7 long months of treatment & 3 years after her diagnosis she was cancer free, officially being discharged from the Holman clinic in 2023. Mum says to this day "It's not a nice subject to talk about, buts it's real and a part of who we are. In some ways there's lots to be grateful for and learn from". Alex has also lost three out of four grandparents to cancer

- Joby
Life's thrown its share of curveballs at Joby, especially when it comes to cancer affecting his immediate circle. Some battles won, some battles lost. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions, even though he's not been directly in the ring. Watching close family and friends face such life altering challenges is tough. But on the bright side, they've won enough battles to make cancer think twice about messing with his family again.

As many of you may know, having to go through this traumatic experience is something you wouldn't wish upon anyone. So we want to raise as much as possible, whether its $5 or $50 it all helps towards the big number & getting a cancer free future.

We are also asking for some fundraising fees / challenges on the day so feel free to set us a challenge or donate towards something you want to see us do. Some of our own rules are,
- 4 putt = $2 donation
- Lost ball = $5 donation
- Club throw or hitting bag with club = $20
- If either one of us get a hole in one = $500
- If one of us eagles a hole AXJ will donate = $20
- If one of us birdies a hole AXJ will donate = $5
- If one of us pars a hole AXJ will donate = $2
- The loser out of Alex & Joby will donate a further = $50
- Every $100 over our goal of $2,500 = AXJ donation of $10

If you'd like to join us for a few holes on the day, feel free to come along! We hope to see you there helping us get through the day.

We appreciate your support & look forward to smashing this challenge.
F**k cancer. Let's beat it!

1 in 2 Australians will be affected by cancer by the age of 85, we want to help change this by making every hole count! So once again, please sponsor us today because tackling cancer takes all of us.
