I’m taking on Cancer Council’s The Longest Day...
... the ultimate golfing challenge to complete four rounds of golf in one day. That’s 72 holes! My hips and back are in pain just thinking about it!
You may not be aware but Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with two in three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70 and I want to help change this.
I am fortunate that members of my family have identified their skin cancer early and have had theirs successfully removed. And hence my motivation is as much about raising money to drive awareness of the risks of skin cancer and to get yourself checked, as it is about raising money for those not as lucky.
I'll be playing with my mate Kim Moran at my favourite golf course Barwon Heads Golf Club - aptly by the beach where I slipped, slopped and slapped every summer growing up. We will be teeing off at 6am and aim to follow this at 8.45, 12.30 and 3.30pm before having a refreshing ale on the balcony up at the Club.
We are looking forward to the challenge and would appreciate any support you can provide to help raise money for this great cause.
