We did it!

Well, the weather wasn't quite on our side and at 5:55am the heavens were well and truly opened and rainfall was steady and heavy!  As we waited for the Pro to arrive at Macquarie Links Golf Course, the four of us contemplated whether we should be putting off the event to another day!

The words "cancer patients don't get an option to put off to another day!" So we committed to playing in whatever the weather delivered!  And deliver it did!  Rain, shine, steamy humidity, more rain and finally an overcast afternoon.

The only disappointing aspect was that the other two courses we intended to play, Camden Lakeside and Campbelltown Golf Club were both unable to accommodate us due to the severe wet weather conditions that had preceded overnight.

A big thanks to Macquarie Links International Golf Club for hosting us for the entire day!

As for the scoring, because of the mix of different formats we played, its difficult to state our exact scores, but let it be known that we all had fun and we accumulated a total of 15 Birdies between us, which is pretty good for a group of golf hackers.

Thanks to my team, Glenn "Scoob" Henry, Shane "Quince" Bullow, and Brian "BL" Smart for a great day, and most of all, thanks to all our sponsors for helping us raise  over $1,200, exceeding our target of $1,000, for this great cause.

We're looking forward to doing it all again next year and hope to have a few more people/teams involved!

Cheers and beers

Claude, Shane, Glenn and Brian are taking on Cancer Council’s The Longer Day...

Because Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with two in three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70 and we want to help change this,

So on the 29th October, Claude, Shane, Glenn and Brian are taking on “The Longer Day” – the ultimate golfing challenge. We’ll be testing our skill, strength and stamina by playing 54 holes of golf (3 rounds), at 3 different golf courses, in 1 single day!

We’ll be starting at 6am at Macquarie Links International Golf Course, then playing Camden Lakeside Country Club, and finishing at Campbelltown Golf Club where we hope to complete our 3rd round by 7:30pm.  That’s a LONG DAY!

Please sponsor our team today, to make every hole count and support our efforts to give back and change lives. Even just $5 per course we are taking on ($15) will make a difference, or if you like $1 per hole ($54).

Thank you for your generous donation.  Together, let’s tee off for a cancer free future.

Thank you to our Sponsors
